A Specialist: A Special List
Had a really exciting day yesterday. Was having dinner with this group of friend at With A Pinch of Salt, and I was hoping that they could redeem themselves from the lousy food quality I had experienced on my last few visits. And as usual, the food wasn’t great (or maybe I’m just too picky), but the prices were reasonable. But there’s one more reason for me to go there now: They serve a cup of melted cheese at the price of $2. And no kidding, the cheese tasted so good! Man, I have a soft spot for cheese. I would instantly melt together with the cheese.
After that, we travelled to this new ice-cream place call the Little Ice Cream Kafe, which was surprisingly interesting.Well, on the first look, it felt like an integration between Gelare & Ice cream Chef. They were selling waffles and ice creams, milkshakes, as well as the ice cream mixed together with toppings under some metal board thingy which I didn’t really know what was going on. But oh well, the taste was really weird. I had hershey’s dark chocolate flavoured ice cream, it was alright, not too bad, but some of my friends had really weird flavours like orange skin, lavender (which by the way, tasted very much like the liquid air refresher), and stuff. However, those weren’t the highlight of the day. The table behind us was this 2 guys, one of them with a really weird hair style. And it turned out to be:

Seriously.. What’s wrong with him. He looked so much better in the past. Nowadays he’s just getting so weird. Ewwww. I think that happens when the elderly attempted to catch up with the youngsters.
As I have mentioned, it was an exciting night. Activities didn’t end at the dessert place. We continued to burn the night off with a Karaokie singing session at Teo Heng! Oh btw, my last few visits to teo heng hadn’t been very pleasant. A couple of times when I visited the K Studio there, the sound system could not allow me to raise or lower the key of the song. And as a result, I couldn’t sing my Mariah Carey songs!
Then yesterday, even worse. Because all the rooms uses wireless microphones, sometimes the mic you’re holding on to might get tapped onto another room’s sensor. And that is when disaster happens. Yesterday, when we were singing happly, suddenly got weird voices coming out from the sound system. By saying “weird voice”, I mean when people sang and it sounded awful. And the problem came and went the whole night. So irritating. I still prefer K Box, honestly.
A little about my camp: Recently, I just got to teach the new batch of man on the techniques of a weapon. It felt great, and I enjoyed this kind of human interaction. I think it takes something special to be a good specialist, a special one. One who doesn’t use the old-school methods of disciplining his man (for example, shouting and tekan, which means something like keep punishing in terms of the physical aspect), but rather, using a soft approach which proves to be effective in modern day context. Come on, we’re talking about diplomatic ties nowadays. Deterrence is only bopian you see.
